Dr. Meaghan Jones
Dr. Jones received her BScH in Biology from Mount Allison University, and her PhD in Medical Genetics from the University of British Columbia. She pursued post-doctoral training at the University of British Columbia studying epigenetics of early life environments with Dr. Michael Kobor, before joining the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics at the University of Manitoba in 2018. |

Shivam Chadha
MSc Student
Shivam obtained their BSc in Kinesiology with minors in Biochemistry and Health Policy from Laurentian University. They are currently working on the NFRF funded project investigating the association between frailty and epigenetic age, and the transmission of epigenetic age between cells using extracellular vesicles.

Nikho Hizon, MSc
Analyst Nikho received his BSc and MSc from the University of Manitoba. His current research focuses on DNA methylation changes in youth-onset type 2 diabetes and related environmental risk factors. |
Kurt Kolsun
Undergraduate Student Kurt is a 4th year student completing his BSc-Major in Microbiology. His summer research has focused on the differences in epigenetic gestational age between cell types from cord blood. He joined the lab thanks to the support from the Faculty of Science Undergrad Research Award. |
Brittany Forsberg
Undergraduate Student Brittany is a 4th year biology student in the cellular, molecular, developmental stream. She received a 2019 Faculty of Science Undergraduate Student Research Award. Currently she is working on developing a time and cost effective epigenetic clock for mice to help study epigenetic age effects. She hopes to get into the genetics technologist field in the future. |
Mira Villegas
Undergraduate Student Mira is a recipient of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Science Undergraduate Research Award. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science - Majoring in Biological Sciences. Mira will be entering medical school this fall. Her project involves investigating DNA methylation and expression of important genes involved with metabolism and obesity. |
